My name is Mike Klakken and I am running as a Republican for the Montana Legislature for House District #70. With my education and experience I am the BEST Candidate for this position.

Community and Government Service:
- City Councilperson for the City of Dillon serving for 4 years (2004-2008).
- Current Member of the Dillon Elks Lodge #1554 (2002 – present) and Past Exalted Ruler.
- Volunteered Judge of the Robotics division for the local 4-H clubs at the Beaverhead County Fair.
- Mentored students at the Parkview Junior High on writing computer code structured mainly as games and did job shadowing for Montana Youth Challenge on computers.
- Mayor for the City of Dillon serving for 8 years (2014-2022).
Education:
- Graduated from Beaverhead County High School (1974).
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Minor in Mathematics from Montana State University (1982).
- Graduated from Washington State University with Masters and Doctorate in Physics, Washington State University (1984, 1986).
Work Experience:
- Worked at Pfizer (now Barrett Minerals) at the mill bagging talc and operating a front-end loader keeping talc bins loaded for grinding rock into powder (2 years).
- Worked my way through Graduate School as a Research Assistant and my last year I earned a research fellowship from NASA.
- Employed at Alliant Techsystems in Salt Lake City, UT in both the Safety and R&D departments where I worked with large solid propellant rocket motors (12 years).
- Owner and operator of a computer store (Aces) located in Dillon (26 years).
